EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT

Plan the replacement around the whole system.

A useful replacement plan connects equipment performance, supported loads, power, controls, and the existing building conditions.

CyBuild brings the relevant engineering disciplines into the review, with a clear scope and defined professional responsibilities.

DEFINE THE INTERFACES

What does the replacement need to fit?

The unit is one part of the scope. The relevant interfaces depend on the existing conditions, the proposed selection, and the purpose of the next project issue.

MECHANICAL

Function and performance.

Establish the heating, cooling, ventilation, airflow, and connection requirements that the replacement needs to satisfy.

Questions behind this interface
  • Which functions must be retained, and which are intended to change?
  • Do candidate selections use a comparable performance basis?
  • How do duct arrangement, clearances, and service access affect the selection?

STRUCTURAL / ARCHITECTURAL

Supported loads and location.

Compare the complete supported assembly and coordinate its position, support conditions, and affected roof or building work.

Questions behind this interface
  • Do the available weights describe the base unit, operating equipment, or the full supported assembly?
  • Which curbs, accessories, and supports are included, and which contributions remain unknown?
  • Who needs to review the effect of the preferred equipment and its proposed location?

A lower published unit weight alone does not establish the complete supported load or structural adequacy.

ELECTRICAL / CONTROLS

Supply and operating interfaces.

Reconcile the proposed equipment requirements with the available electrical information and intended controls arrangement.

Questions behind this interface
  • What supply characteristics and equipment electrical requirements are documented?
  • Which connections, disconnects, or controls interfaces need review?
  • Does a proposed alternate introduce changes that another discipline needs to address?

PLUMBING / BUILDING INTERFACES

Connections, drainage, and access.

Identify affected drainage, fuel, utility, and building connections where they form part of the replacement scope.

Questions behind this interface
  • Which existing connections are intended to remain, move, or be replaced?
  • What location, elevation, and equipment-specific information is still needed?
  • How will the arrangement preserve the required installation and service provisions?

SEE THE COORDINATION IN CONTEXT

A real review, with its limits kept clear.

Our equipment-load dossier follows a replacement review where mixed weight definitions and inconsistent drawing information made the comparison difficult.

PREPARE FOR THE NEXT REVIEW

Keep the right questions close as the information develops.

Use the equipment-comparison guide before the first review, as selections and field information develop, and before the next issue.

Saving keeps this public guide reference in your browser, ready to revisit in Project Desk.

START WITH THE SCOPE

Tell us what you are replacing.

A short description of the equipment, existing information, and timing priorities is enough to begin. Open questions are useful inputs to the conversation.
